Teacher Kim Evans

Welcome:

I’d just like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my team to you all. My name is Mrs Kimberley Evans and I am the teacher in the Infant MLD Resource Base. I am looking forward to working closely with the children and families in my class to make this a successful and enjoyable school year.

Transitions can bring about a mix of excitement and apprehension, for both yourselves and your children. Change can be challenging, and I want to assure you that I am here to support both you and your child. I have an open-door policy, and I encourage you to reach out to me if you need to discuss anything, whether it’s a concern, an update, or just to chat about how things are going. You can contact me at the school on 01492 577290, and I will do my best to respond promptly.

Key Info:

Please can we remind you to put your child’s name in all items of their uniform, including shoes and coats. It is inevitable that the children will take items of their uniform off for dressing up, painting or when they’re hot. Names will help to avoid items of clothing from getting lost. Please also bring in a snack for your child every day. And can you make sure pull ups and wipes are in your child’s bag if needed.

Forest School/PE:

Your children will be immersed in a range of exciting and interesting activities both in class and through learning outside the classroom, for this reason, we ask that children come into school prepared for outdoor learning activities by wearing their active uniform and a warm, waterproof coat. The active uniform is also essential for P.E. which is on a Monday. Please ensure that clothing is appropriate for each season, as outdoor learning will be taking place throughout the year come rain, wind or shine (within reason).

Our forest school sessions will be held each Friday morning. Please ensure your child comes into school ready for this session in the correct clothing:

  • School jumper or fleece
  • Outdoor shoes/ wellies available for the session (pupils will be given the opportunity to change shoes)
  • A warm and waterproof coat

Warm hats and gloves (when the weather is cooler)

What We Are Learning:

Over the year we will be learning through topics. Our Autumn topic is ‘Tyfu a Newid’. We will be learning about ourselves and how we grow and change. In Spring, we will be focus on the topic ‘Hwiangerddu’ which is ‘Nursery Rhymes’. We will look at our favourite rhymes, sing, dance, and look at stories. Summer term we will learn about ‘Haf’, and all the fun things we can do in the sun.
