Class Awel

Teacher Elen Salisbury
Welcome:
And just like that, we are back and are at the start of another school year!
Miss Salisbury has a new partner in crime this year, we welcome the rather Amazing Miss. Roberts!
Now, as being in full-time with Miss Salisbury could be too much of a good thing for the children, other Staff members will be getting in on the action on a Wednesday and Thursday! We welcome Mr. Gallagher and Mrs. Marjot to the Awel Class which we think will make one ‘A Class’ Team!
If Blwyddyn 4 a 5 find themselves with a little spare time on their hands during the evenings, weekends or holidays then there is some work that they can access online. We will be sending out a little username and passwords booklet for home – so there will be no excuses! All they need to do is login and off they go!
Forest School:
We have timetabled Forest School for Wednesday afternoons! Everyone is going to need to make sure that they are suitably dressed and have appropriate footwear on! P.E. is going to be every Thursday and again, they must wear suitable clothing. If your child is wearing our ‘active wear uniform’ then there is no need to worry however, if they are not, then they will need to bring in a change of clothes such as joggers/leggings/shorts, a t-shirt and trainers or pumps!
What we are learning:
We start this academic year with our topic theme ‘Made in Wales’. The children have completed a Pupil Voice activity and this is helping us shape our topic for the term. They have so many great ideas – but turns out they don’t know about everything made here in Wales … and there are a few possibly unexpected things! Blwyddyn 4 a 5 are already looking forwards to the many practical and hands on tasks this topic will presents … as well as some head scratching and problem solving! Remember to keep an eye out on @swnydon Twitter to see what we get up to!
